YE OLD GREEN GRASS OF ENGLAND
A carpet of green grass
Or a paradise in disguise
That England of many green seasons
Hills, rivers, mountains and streams
Mist, fog and summer harvests
Rainfalls in abundance but no sunshine
Flowerbeds adorn gardens everywhere
Spring celebrating the smell of grass
Whirling out of gardens
Like a magic lantern
Filtering through the darkest forest
Overshadows the grass verge
England is a green island
Where the smell of grass
Hovers around the cities all year around
And cascades into landscapes of bright green
That's nature's favourite colour.
Enhanced by the exquisite English weather…
